Prophylaxis
Preventative procedures include a general dental check. This health sustaining exam and cleaning(Prophylaxis) is suggested twice a year, to make sure your teeth are always headed in the right direction.

Fluoride

Fluoride treatments are recommended by the American Dental Association to help harden the teeth to prevent decay. These treatments are also recommended for adults with exposed roots and those with compromised salivary flow or dry mouth syndrome. Home care fluoride trays are occasionally made for patients with recurrent cavities and severe root sensitivity.

Sealants
Sealants are suggested to seal the grooves on the surfaces of your back teeth to prevent tooth decay. Dr Merry’s state-of-the -art facility makes use of Diagnodent lazer, a light based cavity detector to pin point areas of decay in the teeth.

Digital Imaging
Modern Digital Imaging now enhances X-ray machines to not only provide more detailed dental images, but accomplishes the task with far less oral radiation.

Intra-Oral Camera
You will be able to see your teeth up close with an INTRA-ORAL CAMERA. You are able to take advantage of dental health information that provides you with tips on how to keep your teeth healthy with regular brushing and flossing, watching your diet and lifestyle.

Mouth Guards and Occlusion Guards
Mouth Guards have been designed to protect your teeth. For very active lifestyles that both adults and children have today we recommend custom athletic mouth guards. These guards fit comfortably and protect teeth from forces that can cause breaking, chipping, and even tooth loss. Occlusion guards are made for a medical condition called bruxism, which is the grinding or clenching of teeth at night. The grinding can cause your teeth feel sensitive to hot and cold, make jaw, neck and head muscles tired, and wear away tooth enamel. The doctor can provide custom fitted night guards to reduce bruxing and let you sleep better.

Periodontal Care
Periodontal Care is a treatment program to prevent gum disease. Whether it is a mild form (gingivitis) or a advanced case (periodontitis) it is a gum and bone disease which affects tissue that supports your teeth and effects your overall health. Periodontal treatments include scaling, root planing and non-surgical therapy. Frequent hygiene visits will make sure the dentist and hygienist can monitor your treatment and help you with your recovery.

Fillings
Cavity Fillings make use of minimally invasive dentistry. White composite resins are used for decay or to replace dark fillings. The doctor selects resin materials to blend with the color of your teeth. The composite resin supports the remaining tooth structure, insulates against temperatures, deters breakage and gives you a tooth that looks both healthy and natural.

Porcelain Onlays & Inlays
Onlays and inlays fit into a tooth similar to a filling. The difference is, it is a lab restoration, generally used on the back teeth to endure the pressure of the biting surface. There are different material choices which will be determined by the doctor for this restoration. A natural looking solution for your healthy long lasting smile.

Dentures
In some cases, when patients have lost all or some of their teeth a solution that works best would be a partial or a full denture. Dentures are a custom-crafted set of replacement teeth that are strong, comfortable and natural looking, providing the ability to eat, speak and smile. The full denture replaces all of the patients natural teeth providing support for cheeks and lips. The partial denture replaces missing teeth preventing shifting of existing teeth while supporting natural chewing. Often times these can be stabilize through the use of dental implants.

Fixed Bridges
Tooth loss occurs due to decay, accidents and periodontal disease. One solution to bring back that full aesthetic smile would be a bridge. The doctor would make suggestions depending on the strength and health of your teeth. A bridge is a prosthetic tooth that attaches on one or both sides with dental crowns to fill in the space of a missing tooth. A fixed bridge is permanently attached between two or more crowned teeth lasting many years with proper care. Implants are also alternatives for replacement of teeth.

Root Canals
All teeth have varying numbers of roots with canals. When the tooth becomes severely decayed it can cause pulp damage and eventually the tooth will die. With todays root canal therapy the doctor uses techniques to remove the damaged tissue , replace it with man made materials and can save the tooth, restoring it to proper oral health.

Crowns
Crowns are a synthetic or all-porcelain cap that are placed on top of a tooth. They are usually used to restore a tooth to a strong and healthy function with a natural looking appearance. This procedure is used for cracked, broken, decayed teeth or the loss of a large portion of a tooth. Color matching processes give the doctor the ability to match the porcelain to the color of you existing teeth for a beautiful smile that is both durable and long lasting.

Dental Implants
A missing tooth can impair a person from eating, chewing and smiling. Dental implants are a long term solution to tooth loss that can improve both self confidence and function. By surgically installing a titanium post in the bone the implant creates a tooth root. When the area has healed with the implant, the doctor will attach a crown, partial or denture to that implant creating a secure, natural-looking restoration. A smile you can show off.
